The Personal Stress Reduction course helps learners identify the sources of stress in their lives and develop practical techniques for managing thoughts, emotions, and everyday challenges. Through an exploration of mindfulness, relaxation, mind–body connection, and perspective shifts, learners gain tools to respond to stress more effectively and improve overall quality of life.
Module 1: Understanding Stress
Explores what stress is, common causes and types of stress, its effects on the body and mind, the role of mindfulness, and how stress impacts children as well as adults.
Module 2: The Mind–Body–Spirit Connection
Focuses on holistic stress management strategies, including physical activity and wellness practices that support mental and emotional balance such as exercise, yoga, tai chi, qigong, sleep, nutrition, and natural remedies.
Module 3: Relaxation Techniques & Body Work
Introduces proven methods for activating the relaxation response, including guided imagery, affirmations, color and light therapy, massage, and energy‑based therapies to reduce tension and promote well‑being.
Module 4: Diversion & Perspective Shifts
Examines healthy ways to relieve stress and restore balance through leisure and lifestyle changes, including hobbies, social support, humor, rituals, spa and home‑sanctuary practices, and effective anger management.
