By the end of the program, the learner will be able to:
Perform essential clinical procedures including phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection safely and accurately
Assist healthcare providers with exams, minor procedures, and medication administration
Apply knowledge of the nervous system, including common neurological diseases and disorders
Demonstrate proper 12-lead EKG placement and identify basic cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
Utilize electrophysiology concepts, including cardiac conduction and monitoring tools such as Holter monitors and pacemakers
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and vital signs documentation
Apply aseptic techniques, infection control, and universal precautions in all clinical settings
Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams using professional verbal and non-verbal skills
Adhere to HIPAA, legal, and ethical standards in patient care
Prepare patients for neurological and diagnostic procedures while providing clear education and support
Upon successful completion of this program, learners will be eligible to sit for the NHA national certification exam to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
