Upon successful completion of the Automotive Technology course series, students will be prepared to sit for the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) national certification exams and pursue certification as an ASE‑Certified Automobile Technician.

These certifications validate the knowledge and skills of technicians who service and repair cars, SUVs, and light‑duty trucks (up to Class 3).

ASE Master Automobile Technician Status
Technicians who earn certifications in A1 through A8 are recognized as ASE‑Certified Master Automobile Technicians.
Note: A9 is not required for Master Technician status.
Recertification
ASE certifications must be renewed every five years. Recertification exams (A1R–A8R) are approximately half the length of the original tests.
State Licensing Requirements
Individual states may have additional licensing or employment requirements. Students are encouraged to review their state’s regulations by consulting the appropriate state occupational or licensing board.
This class is an independent-study course. Students will have all the resources needed to successfully complete the course within the online material. A student helpdesk is available for technical support during the course enrollment.
