By the end of the program, the learner will be able to:
Perform clinical procedures including phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection safely and accurately
Assist healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures in oncology and general care settings
Apply foundational knowledge of oncology care principles, terminology, and patient support needs
Demonstrate proficiency in infection control, universal precautions, and aseptic techniques
Record and document patient histories, vital signs, and treatment-related information accurately
Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients undergoing oncology care
Support medication administration processes and monitor patient responses under supervision
Perform 12-lead EKG placement and recognize basic cardiac rhythms
Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold ethical and legal standards in patient care
Prepare patients for diagnostic testing and provide education to support treatment understanding
Upon successful completion of this program, learners will be eligible to sit for the NHA national certification exam to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
