    Upon completion of the program, the learner will be able to:

    Safely collect and process blood specimens using proper order of draw and universal precautions
    Perform venipuncture and laboratory support procedures accurately and efficiently
    Obtain, record, and monitor vital signs and patient data during office visits
    Assist with medication administration, minor procedures, and diagnostic testing
    Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, including routine and specialty care visits
    Apply correct techniques for EKG setup and 12‑lead placement
    Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and disease processes related to endocrine function
    Apply HIPAA standards, ethical principles, and legal requirements in patient care
    Upon successful completion of this program, learners will be eligible to sit for the NHA national certification exam to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
    This class is an independent-study course. Students will have all the resources needed to successfully complete the course within the online material. A student helpdesk is available for technical support during the course enrollment.
